Iam a lazy person and mostly I cook food sometimes which makes my tummy full and completes to make in couple of seconds among all these I love to cook mostly one pot meals for lunch which can be prepared easily and I give to my kids as for lunch box so for every week I love to prepare different type of one pot meals among all I posted some of them in my previous post and this time I made gongura rice which is made with red sorrel leaves and it is quite easy to prepare mostly I love to prepare chutney with these leaves which is a very famous dish in andhra cuisine gongura pachadi but this time  I tried this red sorrel leaves rice, these leaves contain higher contents of iron and calcium and some vitamins .

INGREDIENTS:

Red sorrel leaves    : 1 cup tightly packed

steamed rice    : 1 cup

oil : 2 tbsp

tamarind : small lemon size

chana dal : 1tsp

urad dal : 1 tsp

peanuts : 1tsp

hing :pinch

curry leaves : 2sprigs

red chillies : 2 to 3

green chillies : 3

METHOD:

1.Cook rice and keep aside.Heat  oil in a pan and add chana dal,urad dal,peanuts.

2.Add curry leaves and green chillies and stir well.

3.Add red chillies and then add red sorrel leaves and mix properly and cook for a while.

4. When leaves get cooked and comes to closer add saoked tamarind pulp if necessary and stir well.

5.Add salt and let it cook for some time and make sure it cooked properly and get mushy.

6. Add cooked rice to this and stir well and cook on low flame and mix properly ,eat this rice as plain or along with any raitha.
