I love Italian food especially spaghetti and pasta, these days  I became addicted to Italian food and most of the  Italian foods are made with marinara sauce which is nothing but tomato sauce made with mixed herbs and olive oil.This sauce mostly use in pizzas, spaghetti, pasta and some types of Mexican dishes also, I always prefer to make homemade sauces and condiments and yesterday I made this marinara sauce at home.


Olive oil: 1 tbsp

Onion chopped: 1 medium finely chopped

garlic minced : 3 cloves

salt : 1tsp

carrot : 1 diced

Black pepper powder :1/4 tsp

sugar : 1/2 tsp

Dried oregano : 1/2 tsp

Dried thyme : 1/2 tsp

Tomatoes:1 kg whole peeled

Bay leaves : 1


1.In a large pan, heat olive oil over low flame until hot.

2.Add onion, bay leaves , thyme, minced garlic , salt and reduce heat to low and let the aromatics sweat and soften until the onions become soft and this takes nearly 20-25 minutes.

3.Add tomatoes ,black pepper powder, sugar and increase the flame and bring sauce to simmer and cook.

4.Stir occasionally and breaking tomatoes get mushy for 15-20 minutes.Remove the bay leaves from pan and keep aside.

5.Transfer the puree to a blender and blend until it becomes smooth. Transform sauce into a glass jar and keep in the refrigerator, it remains fresh up to two months when getting refrigerated.
