Pav Bhaji is popular Indian street food where dinner rolls/buns are served with spicy mashed veggies topped with dollop of butter. This is a famous street food and every Indian loves this street food ,it is usually made with dinner rolls and we Indians call them as pav and bhaaji is a curry made with cooked vegetables and some spices and masalas.

My kids love this food and whenever we go to shopping they prefer to eat at street side hotels and I thought why can’t I try this delicious food at home and I made this yummy bhaaji and I brought store one pavbuns and made bhaaji with homemade pav bhaaji masala which I posted in my previous post.

Ingredients:

Potatoes            : 2 large

cauliflower         : 1/2 cup

capsicum             : 1/4 cup

green peas      : 1/4 cup

tomatoes      : 3 { large make into fine puree}

tomato    : 1/2 cup

onion       : 1 finely chopped

coriander leaves : 1 small

ginger : 1 tsp finely chopped

garlic    : 1 tsp  finely chopped

pav bhaji masala  : 1 tbsp

red chilli powder   : 1 tbsp

oil           : 2 tbsp

butter : 2 tbsp

water : as per needed approx 1.5 cup

salt as per needed

Method:

  1. Take a pressure cooker and cook vegetables like potatoes,tomatoes ,cauliflower and green peas for two whistles and keep them aside.
  2. Puree the tomatoes and keep aside.
  3. Now take a pan add butter,and oil and when it gets heated add cumin seeds,chopped ginger,garlic and stir well.
  4. Add cooked vegetables and mash well .
  5. Add turmeric powder,salt ,red chilli powder and add bhaji masala stir well.
  6. Add tomato puree and stir for two minutes and add water and cook well untill it gets mushy add chopped coriander and garnish it with chopped onions and butter.
  7. Serve this hot bhaaji with pav buns and serve hot.
